4 hours ago, kevingamin said: OK, either Beowulf isn't dead or he's in the afterlife wearing a white robe. Yeah, this was very unclear. Beowulf is supposed to end with the hero, now an old king, slaying the dragon but dying in the process, and a key point is that this leaves his country without a leader to protect them from their neighbors. Trivia: the "lob" in Shelob is the Old English word for spider. In The Hobbit, Bilbo taunts the spiders of Mirkwood with the epithet "lazy lob". As noted above, Caballeros beat them to it last year.
N.E. Brigand
It looks like the judges from last night's Open Class shows switched tonight. (The announcer also noted that one of them missed her flight in Chicago and drove here.) And also that this set is more easy-going than the others. Scores improved more here than in Metamora. N.E. Brigand
My party of seven all liked Legends' show the most, although I correctly predicted the judges would still have BDB on top. At least Legends grabbed first in G.E. 2, and held on to second in every other caption.
N.E. Brigand
Scores from Metamora, since that show didn't get a thread, with one big jump:: 1. 78.60 Vanguard Cadets 2. 75.40 Gold 3. 73.95 Spartans 4. 71.25 Louisiana Stars 5. 70.30 River City Rhythm 6. 66.50 Golden Empire (1. 65.15 Jubal) 7. 62.30 Colt Cadets 8. 60.25 Heat Wave  Spartans were third or worse in every category except Music Analysis, where they grabbed second, and Guard, where they barely held on to first.
