I agree there are different variables at play but I don't agree with your conclusion. It would be one thing if BAC had a trend that indicated as such, but having just 1 show where they come 1st in guard all season, and that too back in early July seems like an outlier to me. Especially when their win on semis night is sandwiched between 2 losses.

Technically it is an outlier, but if the roles were switched, you would be the first to say, you gotta bring it when it counts most.

I'm honestly not sure I'm willing to give him one more...two off shows in a row? No need for a third...

This isn't the NFL where you fire a coach for going 9-7. You want to get rid of a 30 year old (+/- a year or two) caption head for giving you a top 6 color guard in DCI two years in a row?

huh???...2015 was the last time BD won the Zingali.

I thought Boston won Color Guard.  Blue Devil's color guard has won high CG more times than their legendary horn line has won high brass.

If I misunderstood, thanks in advance for the correction.

Kevin mentioned that he'll be reporting from DCA's championships over Labor Day weekend. FYI, those shows will be streamed, but not on Flo.

Cadet won and she isn't in the same league as either BD or SCV conducting abilities.

She had the best uniform. By far.

Should've stopped at the bolded, I haven't argued anything else!

But different shows, different stages of development within the guards, different progressions. Too many variables to be considered an outlier.

Fair point. That semis judge really set BD back putting them 4th whether or not they had a rough night, while BAC teetered at 1st and 2nd. Interesting recaps for championships but regardless, I’m happy for that drum corps. Very exciting for them as they grow into future champions.

I was a DM in HS and College and based my comment on what I see on the podium, not to offend the unity or perseverance that the Cadets are working through. I generally pick the best conductor who wins this award. Congrats to her!
