WARNING:  Anyone picking the Flo "theme" will be required to clean and sterilize ALL the Finalists food trucks before they are driven home for the summer. Not a pleasant task -- from experience.

the torture loop.

Why? Why would you remind me of this??? You monsters!

For me:

  • All of SCV's show
  • Bluecoats' "Pretty Saro" ballad, including that fantastic trumpet solo
  • Blue Devils' drum break to the end of the show, the "Konnakol" tenor feature and the "Playing Love" reprise from 2009 being the highlights
  • Crown's "Blow It Up, Start Again"
  • Cavaliers' "Oh What a World"
  • Cadets' "Ára Bátur", including during the ending
  • Blue Stars' "We've Only Just Begun" intro. So groovy and feel-good.
  • Blue Knights' ending after the "praise the sun" dance
  • All of Mandarins' show
  • Crossmen's Tchaikovsky 6th
  • All of Spirit's show
  • Academy's Steve Reich section of the drum break
  • Troopers' "Welcome to the Black Parade"... hell, their entire show as well
  • All of Pacific Crest's show
  • All of Music City's show
  • All of Jersey Surf's show

Lots of really good stuff to listen to in the off-season.

Troopers opening.  That music box effect, just the best emotion.

SCV's ballad.  Oh the intensity!

Absolutely.  Was stuck in my head all day yesterday.

Tonight after finals, I am on a BD's "Laura" kick.

Give me a loop with Saro (take two), Natural Woman, and Blow It Up and I’m a happy camper!

I guess I'll have to add Crown's "If I Fell" to my list. It's been running thru my head since they played it at Finals.

I'm in awe that during that ballad, the rest of the baris, mellos, and trumpets all switch to trombones. So at the crescendo, you have this small treble ensemble holding its own very well against 30-40 trombones and contras. Well done, ladies!!!

(It's also a perfect example of pyramid balance.)

BAC  Salvation, Guard, Closer. They did a lot of drill ! Thank you !

Mandarins:  True Colors, Opening dance solo,  that revolving stage

Bloo: Saro Saro Saro.-favorite ballad of the year, Dry Cleaner, their vocalist !

BD Guard Drill- yes drill

BK: Use of color, prep step

Cavaliers: Opener, Ballad,  Oh What a World, Tarp change

Crown: Brass, Drill, all female small ensemble-brass

SCV- The whole show !  Can I lick the bowl ?

Troopers: Sunburst, homage to their classic uniform

Crossmen: Opener, ballad
