Really hard to clean end to end. Been done before though... just tough

True. Demand ( if properly executed of course ) is what  judges tell us they really enjoy rewarding on the sheets, so we'll see Boston increasing their levels of demand upon their marchers all across all sections of their Corps this season. High risk of course... but high potential rewards there too for them, imo.

2015 Cadets snare line disagrees. Judges SHOULD be rewarding demand - but doesn't always work out that way

They sound great - and as you say, everything I've heard and seen from Boston shows demand increasing yet again. They should do very well!

Ending up 2/10 behind 1st place Bluecoats, with nine snares, wasn't shabby.  Subjective decisions by the judges has been discussed many times.

eh not with the talent Cadets marched that year... when was the last time a corps won percussion with 10 snares? Just curious and I literally don't know...

Maybe when the BD were marching 10 back in the 80's.

Haven't checked other years, but knew they marched 10 in 86.

I wonder if in ear monitors would be practical for the snare line or even if they would help.

Not sure... but with Percussion judges judging Percussion off the field now, for the first time, it likely will be FE 's that they'll see and hear more of now than the moving Battery anyway.  Thats just human nature. A judge can be very experienced, and very trained in judging Percussionists. But his/ her eyesight and hearing are likely no better than any Human their age, imo.
