Sound crew should be considered members and should be under 21.

More groups are JUST NOW beginning to get the electronic and amplification game right.  Let’s stick with the adults running that aspect.

I disagree. I'm not a huge fan of electronic usage, but as long as they're doing it, it's best to keep those spots available for musicians.

It's not "sound engineer corps".

And because of the dangerous nature of electrical currents, it should be a rule that only trained adult non marchers can be involved in the assembly and disassembly of electronic equipment.

I thought I heard somewhere that some corps do have MMs serving as techs -- basically an internship/on the job training apprenticeship in doing live sound?

I could be just thinking that would be a good idea and projecting it into reality though.... My kids say that I do that frequently.... :)

Interns, yes. MM? No.

Some corps have 4 person audio engineers controlling the sound - shouldn’t they be corps members? Shouldn’t they be under 21? Especially since sound is such a big part of the show.

No.

And the post season starts... for some of us.... Better question imo is how to get students more involved in this process for their educational benefits (or how ever DCI describes it for everyone else).

I agree, and this is just another way that the activity has lost its soul.  Also widens the gap between the “haves” and the “have nots”.  But the “haves” will never give this up.
