Ah, but the ABE-PHL frequent flier miles add up towards that free ticket...ha, ha.

All the posters pushing the DC area coincidentally live in that demographic and haven't answered the problem of dealing with Beltway traffic especially on (band) weekends.

The metro, or rideshare (scooter or bikeshare).

I thought the "...ha, ha..." would have you appreciate that the post was being sarcastic and in jest.

And Tekk, I would like you try to get all that equipment truck stuff off the Beltway and onto the Metro. Lord knows Metro shuts down most of the elevators and escalators on the weekend.

I had this really long post about considerations before moving, but have been getting error messages all day when I try to submit.  I don't feel like typing it again.  Long story short, IF Cadets were to move, there are a host of criteria I would hope they evaluate in great depth before picking a new home.

There's at least direct flights from DCA to DFW/DAL without having to do an Allentown-to-PHL-equivalent drive first.

And BWI closer to Baltimore. Lots of Southwest flights....prices can be good there.

There is no answer. There never will be an answer.

But people manage to keep on with their lives in the DC metro, despite the traffic situation.

I’ve thought the DC area would be ideal for the Cadets. Lots of schools, plenty of money, access to major airports would make a rebuild much easier.

Here's some of the concerns though. You're now encroaching upon Thunder Brigade and Sonus (formerly Shenandoah Sound). Granted, I have heard nothing about those organizations in a while, but this gives me partial pause to the matter.

Also, despite the seemingly fantastic idea of the DMV (Westminster's Program is/was run by a Cadet Alum), the place hasn't had the best reputation for building an ensemble, despite the seemingly continuous flow of talent from the schools. I can think of a couple ensembles off the top of my head who started and then folded within 5 years of said start.

I mean, I'd love to see it as well as I could see a camp on a crazy weekend if possible. But I don't know how effective someplace like Baltimore/DC would ultimately end up.
