But if Crown doesn’t get over that hump, to wrestle away the bronze from SCV, here’s the positive takeaways: 1) It ain’t 2015. Having defeat snatched from the jaws of victory still stings. Inferno was a masterpiece and shoulda’ taken the gold. 2) Except for the Ott, Crown’s got nothing to lose tonight. No lead to protect, no second guessing. Pull out all the stops & pedal to a medal. 3) With arguably some of the most physical demand on the circuit this year, these kids not only held their own, but led all hitters when it came to musical virtuosity. 4) The death of drill has been exaggerated. Yeah, there might be a post mortem or dissection over some of the visual choices, but CC managed to sell a show that more than a few wrote off as a dead horse, right out the gate back in June. 5) What a wonderful group of folks that I’ve got to chat and exchange ideas with on DCP over the summer. Thanks to all the members for leaving their heart and soul on the field. Thank to the staff for providing an amazing learning experience and a more enjoyable show.
