Did they not essentially do the same to Troopers in 05?  Regardless of the circumstances, were they not asked to go away and come back to get re-evaluated once their feces was coagulated?

Yup

Really simple without any leading statements.

With the reported problems with Pioneer what should the corps or DCI do next? And would this hit recruitment?

The Corps should be afforded an opportunity to publically address this in a manner of their choice. Sooner, rather than later ( if they have not already done so.)  DCI Hq should have their attorney look into this, and if they are convinced there is credible evidence that these alleged things may have occured, then DCI should suspend Pioneer's membership in DCI , alert the Corps of such, and inform Pioneer, they were be under DCI's probationary status ( similar to Cadets in this fashion ). Additionally,  Pioneer should be made to open up their financial books as well as DCI's review of medical procedure protocols and policies in place that satisfies DCI HQ requirements lately announced of member safety procedures in place being mandatory requirements for continued DCI Membership. As far as " hurting recruitment ", this is not DCI HG's calling, nor for anyone else, but prospective marchers and their parents to determine for themselves if this is the Corps for them in the future.

I somehow had no clue that Troop didn't march in 06. They came back in 07, and made Finals in 09. Seems like a year off might be the best thing some of these struggling corps can do.

Dci has the power to say stay home. They threatened cadets with it

I get your point but, for clarity, let's be specific: no they don't.  The can say Cadets can't do DCI tour shows, but Cadets could still perform in other venues like, say, Broadway or the Olympics or a local BBQ.

Just for clarity, the corps don't really make much revenue from DCI's tour.

Blast!

No Tony Awards, either.

I want to get some popcorn and be there for that. Also a check on how SOPY (Support Our Pioneer Youth) is tax deductible. You send a check to the corps but say the money is to used for Johnny Smith for example. So is the money for the corps (deductable as non profit group) or to an individual (not deductable). Don't care personally but never got a receipt and would be interesting how the receipt would be worded as to who benefited from the donation.

Pioneer better have a suitable answers to these allegations, or DCI will suspend or bounce them from competition, and the kids/ parents there will have to decide if paying 1500 bucks is worth it to get to perform exhibitions at picnics, parades, family BBQ's and whatnot in and  around Milwaukee in the summers.
