What rule would you propose for the 2019 DCI tour?

Recommended Posts

Clip mics allowed on the bells of soloists’ horns if necessary.

Max of two speakers allowed for soloist amplification.

No mass amplification of brass permitted.

No live vocals permitted.

Time limit on recorded vocals/narration/other artificial sounds.

No synthesizers.

no animals?  I thought you liked the drum bus.

LOL!!!

Did you read my post??? I'm fine with live animals. It would open up all sorts of show-theme possibilities!!!

I agree.

Not sure why it's ever been necessary... with horn lines of 70-80 well-trained players.

I think wireless mics do a truly fine job of amplifying fracks and spleeyahs by soloists.

All regionals held outdoors should have a "rain date" wherein the corps that were rained out have to compete at a later time when it has stopped raining.

Eliminate any and all rules limiting instrumentation that can be used. Brass, Percussion, Woodwinds, Strings, etc...any and all to be permitted.

An unnecessary Change IMO

There is no limit to the instrumentation a corps can currently use. All corps are allowed to use synthesizers and pre-recorded samples which can (And has) produced all kinds of instruments including strings, woodwind....

A limit on the number of seconds a show can use pre-recorded singing as part of the musical score. If singing is key to an arrangement, it should be done live, just like any other soloist.

I agree. :)
