I was reading last night that some DCA corps feed the MMs on rehearsal weekends some don't. Listing their tour fee differences vs hidden expenses when it comes to choosing a corps, it was interesting. Reddit makes money that is their prime directive. Bleak prospects with huge challenges, for the Pioneer Drum Corps moving forward, no doubt about it. Pioneer and Cadets abilities to withstand probations and / or suspensions imposed by DCI HQ are really not similar at all in many respects. Instead it comes across as more of the "we watched and hoped it would be ok for the season." Insufficient. So much more housecleaning needs to be done. These Blesnki types were allowed way too much oversight-free reign for way too long. I vividly remember having to interact with him during the '94 Division II & III tour and couldn't stand the guy. Came across as rude, arrogant and self-important. well...yes and no. DCi initiated the whistle blower policy. Tour starts in June, so really, stuff didnt start coming out til after that. Then they have to do research. They cant just go in both guns blazing without doing some research or they open themselves up to a can of whoop ### legally. They dont have people search online every day for complaints, they have to get the reports via the official channels. Once they learned about the Pio stuff, there was a meeting with staff, and a policy was put in place to monitor the corps for the last few weeks. What made this worse was stuff that came out after finals, especially the claims of being chastised for reporting stuff. Again, within days, research was done, and the decision to suspend was made. And despite Romans claims about not knowing til the story broke, UPS or Fed Ex tracking numbers could probably blow that theory out of the water. DCA corps are upfront about their feeding policies. So kids know when coming in what the deal is. I've been involved with both ways, and it was stated right up front what the policy is.
