2018 Drum Corps Associates Preliminary Competition - Williamsport, Pennsylvania

Recommended Posts

Stand Up for Something. Corps is having some fun with this one. Nice swing feel. Corps comes up to the front side line for a park and blow which gets some applause.

Nice job by the head DM to work the crowd. First strong reaction of the day.

Drum solo. Guard is on rifle or on changing the props in the backfield, now forming a stylized American flag. Horns move back from the front sideline and head into Sing, Sing, Sing.

Fancy stickwork by the percussion during Sing, Sing, Sing. A little trade off between the trap set in the pit and the drum line. DM working the crowd again, getting them to clap (CORRECTLY) on 2 and 4. Nice segue into Stars and Stripes with the same swing feel as Sing, Sing, Sing.

Who are the two feed announcers?

I know it's not, but, for a second, I thought they were opening with Fanfare For The New. I would have been OK with that, as well. Instead, it is Moorside March. I actually remember Blue Knights playing this in the late 80s.
