kevingamin 7,110 Report post Posted September 2, 2018 In that great journey of the stars through space, about the mighty, all directing sun, the palid, faithful moon has been the one companion of the earth. Opening narration before the pit plays the intro to Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me. First of five props reveals the sun at its fullest. Trumpet soloist plays the opening line of Here Comes the Sun. Company front at half time and the full horn line comes in.
kevingamin 7,110 Report post Posted September 2, 2018 Excellent horn sound from top to bottom! I especially love that tuba sound at the bottom of the foundation.
kevingamin 7,110 Report post Posted September 2, 2018 Second panel reveals the moon beginning to cross in front of the sun. Drum feature, very well executed. Trumpets exhibiting some strong double tonguing skills.

kevingamin 7,110 Report post Posted September 2, 2018 Third panel reveals the totality. We are in total eclipse of the sun (not the heart).
kevingamin 7,110 Report post Posted September 2, 2018 Baritone and trumpet duet on side two. One of the guard members is wearing a black shroud, symbolizing our shadow, as well as the shadow cast on the earth by the eclipse.
kevingamin 7,110 Report post Posted September 2, 2018 Nice laid back tempo for this movement. The guard takes the black shroud and pulls it taught, forming the eclipse on the field. They, in yellow, are the sun's corona around the moon's silhouette.
kevingamin 7,110 Report post Posted September 2, 2018 As we move beyond totality, Here Comes the Sun plays in the pit and the fourth panel is revealed. Sabers have yellow streamers on their tips, like the rays of the sun peaking from around the moon as it moves out of the way.
