DCI - The 2000s

 

In the ten seasons of the 2000s:

Division I / World Class

The Champions - Division I / World Class

Four corps won it all in the 2000s:

  • The Cavaliers won five championships.

  • Blue Devils won three championships

  • The Cadets won two championships.

  • Phantom Regiment won one championship.

 

The Medalists - Division I / World Class

Six corps medaled in the 2000s:

  • Blue Devils and The Cavaliers medaled nine times.

  • The Cadets medaled seven times.

  • Phantom Regiment had three medalist years.

  • Carolina Crown and Santa Clara Vanguard had one medalist year each.

Blue Devils and The Cadets tied for second place in 2001.

 

The Finalists - Division I / World Class

Eighteen corps performed in Finals in the 2000s:

  • Seven corps appeared in every DCI Finals: Bluecoats, Blue Devils, Boston Crusaders, The Cadets, The Cavaliers, Phantom Regiment, and Santa Clara Vanguard.

  • The Academy was the highest average-placing corps not to make Finals in the decade.

Wow, even with the year out of finals, I'm surprised Coats had the higher average finish than Crown. This is cool stuff.

Pretty cool. Thanks for putting together. Unless I'm missing something, two points:

1. The 2000s is 10 years, not 9. 2000-2009 is 10 years.

2. The Blue Devils did not medal every year in the 2000s. They placed 4th in 2005 (1. Cadets, 2. Cavies, 3. Regiment).

Thank you! I just have inadvertently carried that language over from the template I created for the 2010s. I'll adjust!
