tesmusic
I don't know a great deal about guard, but consistent 7's seems like a pretty tough thing to do. Finding 10 guys that can specifically do that seems like a tall order. Maybe not.

More of a basic for world class, maybe not a basic but expected

And most of the members lived within walking distance.

Ahh the good ole days....😉 Today IF you are a weapon or a flag to get through auditions you pretty much come in with a certain skill level already. Does it mean EVERYONE is at the same level? sometimes, often not but are told to come back working on what needs to be worked on Not unusual in the guard world You're right about the old days....gave opportunity to hands-on work with a person early. Sometimes their fall or winter activity will also help them today
DeanInChicago
At DCI intermissions next summer, ten lucky audience members should be invited to the turf to toss sevens.

hughesmr
"...and should be comfortable with not spinning any other traditional equipment during the show." Kind of a curious request --- "we want you as long as you don't spin this...."
