I'm not a guard person.

What are "consisent 7s ?

I don't know a great deal about guard, but consistent 7's seems like a pretty tough thing to do. Finding 10 guys that can specifically do that seems like a tall order. Maybe not.

Not among upper talent levels of guard today. More of a basic for world class, maybe not a basic but expected

BITD the Corps would teach them how to do it.  2/hrs per night, 3x per week in off season at the Corps hall.  And most of the members lived within walking distance.

Ahh the good ole days....😉

Today IF you are a weapon or a flag to get through auditions you pretty much come in with a certain skill level already. Does it mean EVERYONE is at the same level? sometimes, often not but are told to come back working on what needs to be worked on

Not unusual in the guard world

You're right about the old days....gave opportunity to hands-on work with a person early. Sometimes their fall or winter activity will also help them today
