Watchmen Welcomes New Drill Designer—Ryan H. Turner

Riverside, CA— 11/18918 — The Watchmen Drum and Bugle Corps is proud to welcome their 2019 drill designer Ryan H. Turner to the design team.  “We are extremely excited to have his talent and unmatched passion for the marching arts to share with our organization,” said David Becker, Executive Director for The Watchmen.

New Direction, Huge Potential

Turner is well known in the marching arts world, having been involved in any number of roles since marching his first parade as a 7th grader in 1978.  Since then, he has built for himself a reputation of extreme enthusiasm, humor, and creativity which he brings to the many projects and organizations he has been involved with in his nearly 40 years in the marching arts.  Having produced more than 225 show designs for various marching bands, drum corps, indoor drum lines, and winter guards across the country, Turner draws from a wide palette in his design endeavors. “Having seen his show designs over the years, I can’t wait to see what he has for us in 2019,” said Michael Nash, Marketing /Tour Manager. “He’s driven to exceed expectations, and that’s what we are looking for with our production this year.”

Honored and Excited

With his numerous writing credits in his 35 years of writing, one would think that’s enough. But he does much more in the marching arts.  Known for his announcing abilities, he’s been dubbed the “Voice of Southern California” and has been announcing DCI shows on the west coast for over 25 years.  He also recently started his own leadership consulting business called “Dynamics of Leadership” and gives leadership and motivational seminars to student leadership teams of marching band programs across the country.  Professionally, he has enjoyed a 30 year career in the public safety/911 communications industry, and currently serves as the Senior Supervisor of Training and Education for the Orange County Fire Authority, the fourth largest fire department in California, headquartered in Irvine, California.

Founded in 2013, The Watchmen prides itself on providing local musicians and affordable year-round experience that is educational, and teaches members to challenge and grow as individuals.
