As an addendum to your comment The Academy hired Lisa Tatum (formerly Crusaders Brass Caption Head 2018) as their Brass Caption Head 2019.  It appears that she has brought with her at least five other Brass Instructors from the Crusaders.  Looks like a promising group overall and almost a complete overhaul for The Academy brass staff.  Some former BD, BC, Bloo and Trooper MM and affiliated instructors are included.  Have high hopes for the Forged in Heat crew for the 2019 season.

Good news wish them all the luck.

That’s what some of the comments asked (why let him resign instead of fire). And the writer still talks like thanking the guy publicly after he left was the big problem. Ah no, hiring the guy and not canning him was it...

Exactly, Their description of him being a contractor does not match the way they mishandled the entire situation. In addition just like how YEA is seeking civil liability from GH for damage to their reputation (brand). Wouldn't that apply to Stevens, Moody even Fred himself, others? Can they be sued for breach of trust, for damaging effects to the activity?

As if being a "contractor" makes any difference... still working for the corps

It makes a huge difference in business. Contractors are not employees they carry their own insurance. Their employment status is not governed by the HR department. They used the term Contractor for a reason. Corps staff is employes of the Corps or parent corporation. Why say this up front in the press release, it wasn't just a mistake.

And a very interesting read considering the author and his part in this mess.

yet totally ignores the reasons why the entire staff walked after this past season

I'm really pleased to see this where a DCI WC corps has a Woman as a Brass Caption head. Its been too long of a time since Sandra Opie was at Argonne.

I work with people employed by my agency and contractors so understand the difference. But if something gets screwed up we dont say " a contractor did that" like it excuses or lessens things.

Not at all but it does alter the liability if a gas companies contractor does damage they hold their own insurance whereas if an in-house crew does the damage the liability is solely on the company. Damage has been done sometimes liability is shared with the contractor. In some cases, the company sues the contractor and vice-versa. I am wondering what the distinction is here. This was not the first press release where OC called him a contractor.
