I have been eaten alive each time I was there, either as a member or a spectator. One year in the ‘70’s, I took a big breath during drum solo and a mosquito flew in my mouth. I had to swallow it. You win LOL. At least as drummers, we had weapons to flail around at the bugs (we just called them UFO's.) I think Orlando was usually the worst for mosquito's.

This will be a first time for me and the first time with an entire field lineup in probably 25 years. It's an AMAZING venue. Far better than the Georgia Dome in a lot of ways. I will say, try and get towards the middle. The sound in this stadium in particular was deader than Elvis the further you got away IMHO (far more so than other stadiums.) He’s an old Kiltie baritone. He and Jim have been friends for 46 years. He’s actually been to the show when we were there.

Sound was just fine for me, in other words. Seating sections usually attached to club/lounge areas, which makes concessions and restrooms convenient. I sat high up - unusual for me - so enjoyed seeing the shows from a different perspective. (Almost said seeing the drills, but...) Plus, no fuss staying downtown and walking to and from the venue. Not a fan of finishing a great night of drum corps then finding car, queueing out of the parking lot, and driving some way to a hotel. Worst venue from last summer, however, for fans coming and going during shows. Mostly passive and tolerant, I was riled up enough to complain to the venue staff. They had no idea what I was talking about. That's on DCI, I think. We went to St. Louis in the dome last year. I have never, ever seen so many people getting up and down during shows. Well into the shows, just getting up and leaving.

For those that know the new Atlanta stadium. do you have section/seat recommendations? My preference is high enough for drill read. Inside forty obviously and usually comfortable sitting next to a box judging panel...Although I'm sure they will have their own box... We were just ahead of club level for most of it...maybe 5 or 6 rows down towards the field. I just looked back at the section chart and we were in the 108C section (or at least I was since the girlfriend got up like 6 times for beer 🤣)

Dates back to 1978 and takes place in an unusual stadium with the main bleachers climbing up a hill to the high school level. A very intimate setting. It's still a sort of mom and pop operation (with a well oiled volunteer machine making it work). Superintendent is drum corps friendly, and I believe all schools are open to the corps at no charge. https://www.dci.org/events/2019-drums-on-the-ohio That was the first DCI show the Guardsmen won. We were in an accident on the way into town the night before. I had one hell of a shiner marching that show. 2
