Best/Most Memorable Drill Moments in DCI

Recommended Posts

Please list some of your most favorite/memorable drill moments  from shows in the past. Mine is watching Cadets’ closer in 2008 which I believe to be the most physically demanding and visually appealing moment in DCI history. Cavaliers 2002 also had many memorable moments.

Others?

Cavaliers "Step-Over"

Cadets "Z-Pull"

Star "Cross-to-Cross"

It must have a name and a hyphen to be truly memorable!

YES, I AM THE "OLD CORPS GUY"

All of the above.... and I'll add the Cadets' "company front from nowhere" and the "robot pushing and pulling the form" in the Cavies' "Machine" show.

Pre-DCI... 1971 Blue Rock, their "wheel over the finish line" in their "Requiem for the Masses" closer.  A relatively simple move, but devastatingly effective.

I thought they had marched over the FL before the partial wheel.

You're right... the video shows them over the line. I seem to remember them "wheeling" over the line earlier that season. Could very well be wrong.  I definitely remember that final move... the "block march" through the end zone while playing their closing fanfare.  Different from what most corps did back then... the "park and blow" from the end zone.

Where's Mike Davis when we need a confirm/deny here????
