SCV 1999 still the BEST SCV Ever?

Recommended Posts

Just went back and watched it - remembering what it was like live

What do you think - even after 2018's SCV - is 1999 the BEST SCV ever?

I like 1974 ... but that’s me.

A favorite of mine as well - here's a very cool late-July video (field level) of 84 SCV - if you haven't seen it be sure to check it out

Definitely way up there.

Was this their final show on Gs? I can’t recall.

I seem to recall this show not being liked until end of the season that year...surprisingly this used to be one of the shows I'd show newbies to drum corps...this was definitely one of my personal favorites...it's tough to say best SCV ever IMO...seems more like it would be better said as "best of it's time and/or era"...

I don’t remember the guard wearing those skirts in 74.https://youtu.be/AhX-A3JKWX4

plus there’s a pit.  No pits in 74.

Yes! One of my all time fave drill moves. The “Y” that collapses into the block. They knew I liked it so much they did it twice.

2000 was their final show on Gs. They moved to B-flats in 2001.

Correct. SCV’s opener was Horn Call from Siegfried, concert number was Candide production number of Young Person’s Guide to Drum Corps and Clowns/Bottle Dance closer.
