Music corps should NOT do

Recommended Posts

Haha the Jazz orchestra one was in my recommended YouTube videos. Sounds like something that would be done in the 70s

There was an afternoon talk show hosted by Mike Douglas back then, and one time Lennon and Yoko were guests. About 1/4 of the way through a duet they were doing, somebody wisely turned off her micc!.   😀

I didn’t see that one (refused to watch) but saw Alice Cooper calmly discuss his alcoholic haze era. No Oprah hissy fits just “I don’t remember my 3 best years”. Before Betty Ford era regarding public opinion on alcoholism so gained a lot of respect for Vince... err Alice.

Most rap music, not because it's bad (although I don't care for a lot of it) but because it depends too heavily on the words, with very little melody.

The Shaggs.

They’re making a movie about them.  https://www.spin.com/2018/10/the-shaggs-movie-casts-eighth-grade-star-elsie-fisher/

Anything by REO Speedwagon.

In fact, if a corps plays an REO Speedwagon show, I just might personally work to make sure that corps disbands and is never heard from again.

P.D.Q. Bach??? Nah, nevermind. Everyone should perform music by the great P.D.Q. Bach.

Read the article and holy crap.... reminds me of the Barbarians (Are You A Boy or Are You A Girl) who were known mostly for having a drummer with a hook for a hand. They are on the T.A.M.I. Show DVD with big early 60s acts.

On topic Spike Jones would not work imo... but big fan...
