JimF-LowBari
2019 is the 100th Anniversary of the American Legion (SAL member myself). And next year will be the 100th of the drum corps that was started by the Post I belong to. No longer march with that corps but know they are planning for next year. Got me thinking... what have other corps done to celebrate their milestones..... Tad_MMA
50 is a lucky number: Garfield Cadets, Madison Scouts, Blue Devils. I guess SCV's is 51. 😀
OldSnareDrummer
The Cavaliers' 25th in 1973 and 30th in 1978 turned into disappointments. They didn't make Finals either year, falling to the infamous 7th place curse in '78.
Ghost
In 2015, Boston celebrated their 75th with a performance with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra during the playing of 1812. Then they were at Tanglewood along with the BD. They had their 75th Gala show at Gillette Stadium. And finally, in August, they played the National Anthem in Fenway Park. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bkwPT84IL8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-AiY4Ki4uM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pztOfEgRdZ0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vuaXS4lhsM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sel1bg_KNAU

They placed 7th in 1976 and did make finals in 1977, but of course fell in 1978. However the other 7th placers prior to 1976 placed 7th and fell. OldSnareDrummer
Ah, you are correct. Blue Stars were 7th in 1977., so the Cavaliers did not fall to the curse in 1978 My feeble, old mind forgot about that. That curse had a pretty good little run during those times. tesmusic
In '98, my second summer marching Madison, we presented The Cavaliers a cake for their 50th, as they did for the Scouts in 1988 from what I'm told, at our home show. That was a fun moment as far as anniversaries go.

Give your old mind some credit.
