As long as they continue to be the destination of choice for top vet talent, they will absolutely continue their dominance for years to come.

I don't understand the problem....

Let's say that in 1973, the first year BD was scored in DCI, I placed $10,000 down for any corps to beat the Blue Devils, and did that each year to the present. While I would have been sitting at $0 in the years of 1980 and 1982, never would I have gone into the negative. And here in 2019 I would be showing a $100.000 profit. (and if I had increased my bet each year to match the inflation rate I would be over a million). So with that info, put me down to take the field against BD every year going forward.

History says otherwise. It is jaw-dropping amazing what they have accomplished.

It is amazing what they have accomplished. Eventually all mis-step a bit.

Preseason, basing a prediction on past performance is logical, especially if there is consistency. Sometimes there can be circumstances that point to a change, such as the departure of staff or poor recruiting. That all changes once the first note of the show. Then what we see on the field is what matters. Predicting Blue Devils success in the upcoming season is reasonable. We also have to keep in mind eventually all things come to an end.

Where Blue Devils is so dominant, does the corps compete against other corps or do they compete against themselves?
