Old Corps Guy
1980 Cavaliers - The step-over. Is there any other?
boxingfred
1979 North Star- Oakland Crusaders went on early in prelims so after our show we got a chance to watch the other corps warm up and perform. I swear North Star had the best drums that year. ( And, I was a Santa Clara fanboy that year) Boy it was so Hot in Birmingham that summer. tedrick
1990 Madison Scouts was a very solid 9th place show -- 2 years after winning DCI

I feel like there was a great run of 9th place shows in that time span, starting the year before with Suncoast Sound's "Florida Suite" revival. 1991-2 saw the Blue Knights breaking into the top 12 (Billy the Kid in '92 was terrific), then some more fun blues & jazz with 'Coats in 1993-4, and the very polished Colts 1995 "Sunday In The Park" production. Wow, I keep showing my age with all of these... Edited June 14, 2019 by ExPitster Correct misinformation

Hook'emCavies
I know this one is for the best 9th place group, but I wish I could change my vote for best 10th place corps to 1985 Star of Indiana. Love every aspect of that show.

smj02
I can't settle on one. I like: 99 Boston (Symphonic Dances) 02 Crossmen (The Signature Series) 10 Boston (Thy Kingdom Come) 11 Blue Knights (English Folk Songs) 13 Madison Scouts (Corps of Brothers)
