TripleForteGuy Posted July 13, 2019 Share Posted July 13, 2019 After moving from a seventh chord endings to the age of dissonance in corps since the 80's, I have grown tired of the dissonance. The pieces like Academy's Bridge and Blue Knights second half piece are welcome. (Best BK group since 6th place) I just wish the brilliant people of staffs would move us away from all dissonance to another period of time of music that is not always the same. Robert W Smith began the move in 1985 with Suncoast Sound's show which is still one of my favorite shows and it has just become TO ME a place where staffs haven't figured out how to lead out of. There is so much good about drum corps and this years's shows but the dissonance has just become I think expected. Where as drum corps used to push the marching arts activity I think it still does but BOA has some bands in it that are just fantastic on their approach to the arts. Just my two cents.
