Rain was a comin.  It was starting by the time we got back to the hotel.

It was an enjoyable show and as expected, the experience was much better than the theater.

I found my young friend in the Scouts.  It was by chance that we were leaving the stadium and I saw his name on his jacket.  A nice kid.  They’re all nice kids.  I was happy to bring him some treats.

I also saw our friend Matt who teaches the Cadets but who we’ve known since he marched in 2013.  These are friendships that will last until I die.

Favorite part of last summer was getting to interact with the members from all corps.  They're all pretty amazing young men and women.

I couldn't watch tonight's show but did Cadets change that extremely ill-advised section where they literally ripped a dress off the "Queen" character?  Because holy moly.

Good.  I actually think the show is more-or-less OK (if not spectacular) but that section was bonkers.

Yes... the just pushed her around. Then at the top of the steps took her scepter and she ran down the back stairs (they did not throw her off)

All the more reason to love the activity.

I can honestly say I have learned so much from DCI. And do not get me started on the friendships I have made through DCI. You just can't beat it 🙂

I have friends throughout the US that I see just once a year - at drum corps shows. It's an amazing thing we all share, and hard to explain to those on the outside.
