It would be great if they could get to the mid-July west coast shows in the next few years. Hey, a first year Columbians mom here. Thanks for the love! This little snippet from the Columbians description may clarify why our season is short: "...Dedicated to the idea that the Columbians be "a local corps for local kids," keeping costs low for members and keeping expenses for the corps down were major concerns for the corps' leadership. A short, local performance season was their solution." Watching all the different corps this year for the first time was so inspiring...you are all such talented musicians and performers! Long live drum corps!
sanjoseDCfan
Tomorrow (Jul 17) the Open Class starts to heat up as Spartans, 7th Regiment, Les Stentors, and Raiders join the tour in NJ. They will join Legends, Southwind, and Heatwave who have already been touring. Encorps will also be there but will not tour.

Otherwise, I know three people at my house that would be missing the bus! 1

sanjoseDCfan
Anyone going to be there? 1st head-to-head between Legends and Spartans and the first time we will see Les Stentors since 2017. I hear the venue is a baseball field with a pitchers mound, hopefully the mound is not too dangerous for the performers. Lets go Open Class! sanjoseDCfan
Open class is heating up during the Open class tours to championships. Raiders rejoin the tour in Sheffield PA tomorrow night. So far, Gold and Spartans seem vying for 1st/2nd. However, you can't count out Legends to make a last minute push! It is great to see Les Stentors return to competition, everyone does not make it back from a year off.
DrumManTx
I've seen a video of Vessel, The Battalion, Columbians, etc. Man, a lot of those regional touring corps are awesome. Edited July 26, 2019 by DrumManTx
xandandl
And as tour gets closer to Finals in Open Class too... schedules get more hectic and busy. (Saw this elsewhere and appreciated the humor. Kudos to C.H. for his creation.)
