onionhead
One more thing that I would like to add, now that the judging is basically done from the sideline, with no adjucators on the field, the show designs are bringing the ensembles right to the front, and that’s nice for the fans. The opening minute of the show is hair raising good. It is so nice to hear live. They play the heck out of it - in perfect control, of course. But the guard is really struggling. That’s not news on these boards, but there were some pretty ugly spots tonight. I would say if they finish 6th then yes, one of the deepest pools. Cavaliers seem like, if they finish 6th like they could have one of the best 6th place shows too, or Boston, or whoever. There have been some incredible 5th place shows recently that either had one thing holding them back or it lost momentum or just didn't quite have the legs to surge. 2011 Juliet, 2014 OOTW, and 2017 Jagged Line come to mind immediately. In the case of Bluecoats/Crown they were both coming off of a championship and had some of the best member talent in either corps history. OOTW is probably my favorite hornline of all time and as mentioned in the other thread the visual demand in Jagged Line was crazy. I think SCV has crazy talent like that this year- but will the show design hold them back and let them fall? CrownedSantaPhantom
For anyone who was in attendance last night, what was the first encore tune that Crown played? Was that Band of Brothers?
