The percussion part of the Cadets’ Musical Analysis score is higher than the brass component.

So they just ignored the brass?

Crown out performing there rep in ge across the board...not good for the last two weeks.

Their brass line is outstanding again.  Is there still a brass component to General Effect? 😂

No. There's two music analysis judges, one with percussion emphasis and one with brass. The scores are averaged

Yes.  This is where the analytical hack matters... in looking for placement improvement.  They are kind of in a rut... but their great performance in brass may explain the discrepancy.  They are a technically outstanding drumcorps.

No.  The brass is awful.  The percussion is keeping the Cadets in the top twelve all by themselves.

The judges were hardly a distraction when on the field. I barely ever noticed them. It is possible, but we did not see percussion scores fluctuate to this extent in past years. And honestly sorry no, it isn't a level playing field. Some books require a closer read than others, particularly the ones that are much more difficult.

We can agree to disagree on the judges being a distraction.  It may not distract you but it doesn't mean that it doesn't distract others.

You can't just declare it isn't a level playing field and that becomes truth.  You did make a good case for some books requiring a closer read than others but this "unlevel" field does not seem to have affected the Vanguard.  Would you contend SCV does not deserve the top spot currently because the judges are not on the field?

So how did they get a 7 or 8 from the one emphasizing brass?

Mandarins were underscored on brass.

I cant help but think the “legacy” of the the Cadets is helping them with their score.  It’s not matching with what’s on the field.
