I personally agree with the placements without the benefit of seeing the corps tonight - Mandarins are very good

however it is interesting how lemming like the judging community can be - a week ago Cadets were beating these corps and now suddenly the judges are having BS three point them - three points is a mile in DCI distance

its a bit dramatic of a shift - volcanic explosions have been more subtle imo

crossmen will be ahead of Cadets in ATL imo

Much as i hate to say it, i wouldnt be surprised to see the margins shrink back down once more corps come into play. The large competitive gap between Blue Stars and Blue Devils may have helped Stars float upward a bit.

A rough check of past scores (i may have missed one) it appears this may be the earliest Blue Stars have hit 87 since returning to D1\WC

Close. They hit 87 five days before Atlanta in 2010. Today is three days before Atlanta.

The last time was in Two-Thousand-Never! This is historic for the Sacramento corps!

One of those moments where we really feel the loss of full retreats.

And look at Spirit closing in on PR! It's a battle for that 12th spot.

Crossmen, PR and Spirit are all within a 3.0 point space.

cadets may fit in that battle too imo

chances are music may save them but competing for 12th is not out of the question

It will hurt a LOT if Cadets and Phantom are both out of Finals.

Good company to be in either way. That was a #### good show.

And one of the best mellophone lines in modern DCI history.

I believe that is correct.  The only ones close are July 25, 2009 then July 26, 2010. 2008 was July 30. Last year (2018) it took Blue Stars until Aug 2 to break 87.
