I wish Boston had some more quieter moments in their show.  There is so much power, energy and fortissimo moments both in the brass and percussion arrangements that it seems overbearing at times.

Frankly I’m not convinced there’s that big of a gap musically between the two either. IMO visual, GE and guard are head and shoulders higher than Crown. Do any of you feel that DCI is propping Crown up too?

Of course DCI is not "propping up" anyone.  That's a ridiculous notion.  Both Boston and Crown earn the scores they get.

If you think Boston and Crown are on the same level in terms of brass, go listen to both, live!  There's a big difference and Boston is a notch down IMO.

I had early day (drum corps) performers come and sit by me and start to do the same thing during last night's last session. I politely asked if the conversation could wait to between shows. They were courteous enough to oblige. Had no problems the rest of the night.

I had nice people by us last night.

The elements of a production is more than brass or percussion alone and the sum of the whole needs more consideration.

I agree 💯 with you that Boston has a better GE package and better show concept, but Crown is executing better, except for guard.

 Boston's guard is incredible.

Can we go back to Cadets? Like what happened?

We need a less vague question.

I mean, Crown's brass is a bit better and clearer. The arrangements are different too. BACs writing is dense. Crown's writing is very exposed and there is a lot more range of variety.

Brass is only one element of the production and that in itself shouldn’t be representative of the whole.

There are commentators on flomarching, too.  They mentioned Drum Corps Planet. I don’t think it was a compliment.

That's because they don't have a good response for the poor quality of their product.
