I went off on a bucnh of high schoolers and their directors in 2015 at Grand Nationals for making fun of Broken Arrows performance. I can't remember what I said except "Maybe if you put as much effort on the field as you do making fun of your soon to be national champion your a**** wouldn't be sitting down tonight." 😅😅😅

Stuff like that would have never happened at my high school. I remember a specific time where we were all in the stands and one of freshmen just started laughing out loud in the middle of a performance. I was one of the drum majors that year and just a couple rows down from him. Before I even had a chance to turn around and act on it, both people next to him had their hands over his mouth and the section leader behind him was whispering in his ear with the most ###### off look I’ve ever seen out of her. After the performance, he got up and apologized to the parents around us for laughing during a performance.

We might not win every contest (though we did win a lot lol) but we were never going to be THAT band in the stands. So bravo for speaking up!

The one thing I think all of DCP can agree on -- those ARE uniforms, right?

"Military themed costumes"

And they wear hats! For the entire show, too!

Excuse me -- those are properly called "covers".  Right @Chief Guns?

Crowns brass is amazing. IMO show concept is lean and not supported visually. The guard is meh! Surprised at basic guard work at this level. Props not integrated but pushed all over the field with little effect. Musically outstanding for sure, however easy to understand why this show won’t be medaling.

I look at it quite differently .. well established CrownGuard is rebuilding .. well established the design/visual team is finding their way .. AND despite all the challenges they are still competing at a very solid 4th place .. to me says something pretty incredible about the corps..

I am active duty in the Navy. Chief Petty Officer, 22 years and counting. So much pride seeing the Marine Drum and Bugle Corps. This Chief has a tear in his eye. What an honor!!

One of the unique things about the ensemble (vs the other military ensembles):  these guys have all been through basic AND advanced weapons.  They are bad ### Marines -- not just professional musicians in uniform!    There are actually quite a few Crown guys in the unit.

Get it Marines! Your simultaneous marching and playing is more than DOUBLE the nearest corps tonight!!!!!!! 🤣

While I absolutely applaud Marines simultaneous responsibilities, Crown is definitely a runnin' and a gunnin'.
