This has been a head scratcher all season. So, I imagine I'm at the table with the really talented people at SCV designing the show in the winter. The costume designer (let's pretend his name is Ralph) is now up to reveal sketches of the proposed look for the winds and percussion. The covered drawing is placed on a large easel at the front of the room. The covering is lifted. I immediately say, "Ralph, wrong sketch. That's the one you're doing for the off Broadway low budget revival of Godspell." Ralph states, "No. This is what I am proposing. I know its different but I think it speaks well to the vibe we want create on the field this summer." Me or someone else in the room, "Our show is about counterculture. The emotions connected with such. I really appreciate your thinking outside of the box on this one, but I am not sure I am seeing our theme here. And besides, we all know from decades of collective experience, grey and light pink really do not work well outside on a green football field at any distance, much less from the press box."

Though the costume would have more impact inside and up close, maybe for indoor guard or winds, or even for "Godspell" or "Hair" or whatever, it still would be bland and unflattering.

Were not the Sunnyvale Sparks (whose name was changed by G. Royer into SCV) a volunteer F.D. organization first?  Certainly seem to be returning to their roots the number of times those mms slide down those fire house poles. (Only you dirty minded thought those poles were from some speak easy dance joint.)

Maybe Reddit fluffs and DCP re-posts touched that SCV design team. Certainly the center tarp was re-situated.

To be clear:  Not blaming you or your gear either.  That transmission has to go a long way on probably some very bad wires before it gets to your house.

I Had to work last night 16 hours, so I was forced to use my computer with their modem and internet access to watch East Coast Classic Day 1. My work is a very large corporation with guessing 100 + smaller businesses all connected through the corporate network so they do have ample bandwith.

Just to verify my speed, I ran a speed test and here are my results from speedtest.net

So in summary, I missed Genesis and Music City installing Chrome and restarting stream. Seemed to play fine up to Blue Stars. From Blue Devils on it was like listening to double audio tracks at the same time. Sent and email to FLO and got the polite putoff response: "we're reviewing the situation".

So, we'll see how tonight goes because I'm working again and have the same setup. I will just have to be content reviewing the recaps from last night.

BK - Loved the musical content of their show (especially the battery). Visual impacts come far too late into the show to compliment some of the great musical moments scattered throughout the show. Although it's pretty emotionally heavy, I like the voice narrative (maybe it's just his voice). I wish it had more impact. I still think the whole show is very cinematic and poetic.

BS - It looked like a Disneyland parade when they came on the field. To me the show felt sloppy. Drill looks pretty hard though. It felt so spread out that I missed some moments/details. Mt Everest on the side is too far over. Really like the tents that pop up. It's framed the show nicely.

BD - Been following this show since the beginning and I think it's grown to such a sophisticated beast. Watching it live is everything! So many cool moments. It needs a new ending to bookend the beginning. The start has such a mystery with the masks, the light turning on and the surge of bodies encompassing the "stage". The ghost light serves a purpose when the theater is not in use but once humans returns, the ghost light goes away. Loved the show but it was missing something tonight. It's a show that if it's in the pocket, it's untouchable. 

SCV - drumline (period). Powerful hornline too much syn. Babylon part 2 with a theme of rebellion. Props and tarps are so oversaturated, I had no idea where to look. It also felt like most of the action was happening below the front hash mark. Visually it just needed to breathe a little bit. 

BC - FUN show. Confident! You can tell they really wanted it tonight. Definitely a crowd pleaser. I like the 2nd half better. The beginning felt like a cluster of moments that I couldn't appreciate because it came and left right away until it got into Eleanor Rigby. I tarp dots on the perimeter don't serve much of a purpose. I like this version of the ending the best.

Blue Stars live the stuff on the scaffold is hard to read. off on the side and the color scheme makes it hard to read, and i was on the 50

I've started using the FloSports app on FireTV.  Running Comcast Internet -- 150 Mbps, but my router only gives me around 90.  Other than the multi cam fail we all experienced last night, it's been pretty decent -- from a "I have continuous picture and sound" standpoint.

i used to view via a browser and did all the tricks to keep things going with moderate success. So far, the Flo app has been set and forget. (Knock wood)
