Aug 5 Tour of Champions - Akron

Recommended Posts

Lead character climbs up on the stage props the upper brass is on at the end of Truman Sleeps before doing a trust fall into the guard.

Percussion feature of Run Boy Run. Very true to the original and very effective and fitting to the show.

Guard members on half the tower props literally hanging from them with a bungee cord.

Brass back in, very evil sounding.

Especially that mello trill!

Maybe not, but you have to admit they really sell it.

I think they're painting themselves in a corner - kind of like Blue Knights - always esoteric/weird

or Academy/always campy/funny

Mandarins - oh of course - they're always dark and disturbing --

they won't be able to break out of their genre boundaries --

Excellent cord by the tubas at the end of their feature, as well.

Great build in the drill to a tight formation before breaking out!

Speaking of breaking out, our main character thinks he’s breaking out. I have some bad news, bro.

PR: graceful as always. Wife said "sub bass is too loud"

Mandarins are the real deal.  They are getting superb instruction and it shows.
