Aug 5 Tour of Champions - Akron

Crown does NOT waste time, going full out from the start of the show in both brass and percussion.

Also, isn’t it great how strong Crown’s drum line is? Takes a lot of pressure off the rest of the ensemble.

I really love the musical selections of Crown’s show, a lot of Bulgarian influence in the opener and closer.

Also, I am in a PERFECT position for a great down the pit line shot, which I of course now have.

Might be the strongest crowd reaction to an opener so far.

”The detail of the pattern is movement!”

This section selection reaches back to the 2013 show in a lot of ways. The theme itself, with its mathematical basis, does so as well.

Next year they should consider starting the pit angle from mid-field and angle away from the front. why not go further away.

Anyone want to take a guess on what they call these things on their arms?

Guard flags are glorious blue and purple reflective silks.

And, of course, the brass line is putting a clinic on from the first note. Another Jim Ott trophy for Crown?

Now for the ballad, and you CANNOT go wrong with Gabriel’s Oboe in drum corps.
