Mandarins did not get quite the same reaction as Crossmen and Regiment. Nice applause but no standing O.

I love that ALL the drum majors are in one of the previous Blue Knights’ uniforms.

The narration is from a short film called Ellis, starring Robert DeNiro about an immigrant remembering his first arrival at Ellis Island.

Three soloists play minor Tritons from within the mirror prop staged around the field. Very mournful and effective with the narration.

Percussion is fading in and out on rolls, also rotating on the field to change the sound.

You can tell the Broken City influence from Mike Jackson in the percussion writing, like the most subtle of buzz rolls in the snares.

After the intro, we go into Water by Jay Bocook. Low brass with tenors to start.

Full horn line now in.

Flags have red and blue flags which stand out against the muted colors of the horn and guard outfits.

This is one of the things I love about the current iteration of the Blue Knights - They tell a story in everything they do. Even the music and movement portray what the show is about.

Horns were just hauling freight in the drill before going into the final section of Water.
