I think Cascades are fine musically, but I think a lot of these OC shows are just better constructed overall, especially visually. Southwind will be the one in 25th if a 4th corps makes semis. Jake W.
I know we've seen the OC scores inflated a bit this year --- I do wonder where everyone will land at Prelims. To my eyes & ears, Southwind was a good step below Cascades in terms of the fight for the 25th spot, and I wasn't quite expecting that. I thought they'd be a bit more on par based on the scores so far this year. I could be totally wrong, of course. Edit: looks as though most disagree with me! I probably am wrong. That was my first viewing of Southwind (other than YouTube), and I've gotten to watch Cascades at all three Regionals, so I could just know the show better. Edited August 6, 2019 by Jake W. Terri Schehr
I’ve seen Legends. I’m sure it’s cleaned up nicely.

Typically, we've seen most of the OC scores dropped other than BDB and SCVC who tend to leap. Without BDB and SCVC there, it'll be interesting to see if the top OC get the growth boost. CrownBariDad
Watching the time keeper with the number cards and the front ensemble setting up. I wonder if the electronics folks have color-coded hookups or numbered plugs so they don't have to think as much when getting everything connected -- with the time constraints? In fact, in 2017, they were the first corps out of Semifinals due to the Spartans being particularly strong in Visual, despite Seattle taking GE and Music. I think Southwind's visual program (and by extension, GE) could be strong enough to overtake them, but we'll see on Thursday. Jake W.
Having caught this show on YouTube, I loved every part of it --- except trying to put Genie in a Bottle in and change up the lyrics to make it siren-y. We'll see how that part reads over professional recording; hopefully better.
