What would you think if...

Recommended Posts

I heard one corps is doing something. Then another corps started doing it because the first corps did it. Then next season I heard a rumor that all the top corps are doing it. Yeah. Quite a scandal.

Stupid thread.

....you learned that a top 6 drum corps had wireless mic’s on over 30 of it’s brass players?  What about tempo remotely broadcast to in-ear units on performers in the field?

Who the #### is paying for it? Or would it be another fund raiser letter “on top of everything else we need...”

As I have said in my thread regarding pre-recorded singing.  This is no different than a metronome.  The tempo never changes on a sample track.

"Enhancements are different than singing and controlling the tempo with pre-recorded tracks.  I have no problem with the enhancements if the judges are agreeing with it.  Where my issue remains is music that is not being performed on the field and when the tempo is being controlled by a "Faux" metronome."

Which, in itself, is not a bad thing, really.  It's all performance-based in the eyes of the designers.

What I object to is that they're judged on the "creativity" of adding A&E/Props to the circus.  Those who don't, or can't, are punished.

Just look at the placements in this and recent prior years for proof.
