Why is this a thread?

Someone asked a question.....

seriuosly I thought the same thing years ago. Only things holding a corps back from amping whole horn line and controlling balance that way is cost and rules. Lol think rule would be set before cost

Point...

Why are we talking about "rumors of talking about how to do electronics right from previous Jannuals?"

We know that happened. They were very up-front about it. Particularly Michael Martin from Cavies, who was the one who proposed the rule to get rid of it. Damp Otter had a Field Pass about it at the time...don't have a chance to look it up right now because I'm at work and DCI's search function is non-ideal.

DCI has only gone backwards twice.....singing/vocals, and posting recaps...in 47 years.

....you learned that a top 6 drum corps had wireless mic’s on over 30 of it’s brass players?

Are we just talking about some corps having some brass members with individual mics?  Because that's not new - especially for solo parts.  Or are you saying that those players' mics are on throughout the whole show, with their performance being used electronically to cover up the sounds from players without mics?

Mics in horn bells aren't exactly a secret - they're fairly obvious (just look at the below recent DCI pic and you can see at least three personal mics)

Those darn Couchmen. Always causing trouble.

Then they figured out how to filter out the creaks and groans from their furniture props out of the audio feed?  Last time I heard them, it was like they didn't have any brass.

Depends which Corps is caught.  A Soundsport group with aspirations to Open class would be DQ'd, but a top 6 Corps would earn a 'wink-wink-nudge-nudge say no more'

Like they do with criticism earning a DQ vs sexual assault of members that earns at best lip service of a member safety policy.

It appears that there are different standards for different groups

$1 for the obscure Monty Python reference.  Nice! 😊
