Ah, but next year, when three corps are doing a revival of Cats, some art director will have the kids running in the isles at the Oil Can in all of their fur covered glory 😱

Ah, such a wet dream for us all to enjoy. 😂 😝

My friend at the theater said it looked like someone on Side B was moving across the front boundary during the show.  Could have been one of the marimba people even if the placement of the instrument itself wasn't the issue, the movement they do around the (which is extensive) might have put them over the boundary.

At any rate, I'm sure they'll have the pit layout all changed for tonight to make super duper sure.

I’m just glad it didn’t negate beating BAC and changing tonight’s performance order. Onward and upward.

Performance order may not matter when it comes to penalties. In 2013 after the “baby powder” fiasco, Boston Crusaders found themselves in 10th. 9th the next night, 8th at finals. In 2015 Blue Devils received a penalty of 2 points and found themselves in 4th, 2nd in semi’s, 1st in finals.

As Phantom alums can attest, finals penalties are most painful. In 1978 Phantom got a .10 penalty for a dropped rifle, and their usual perfect score in color guard was a 1.9. If that had not been the case, they would have won.

Finals penalties are absolutely painful. In 1991, in the Class A-60 Finals Mandarins were assessed a 0.4 penalty because of the direction their bass drummers were facing during the 60-second warmup. Without the penalty, they tied with Pioneer for 1st place, and Mandarins won GE (if that was going to be used as a tie-breaker).

Even more painful: the following year the warm-up rule that caused the penalty was changed.
