I just realized that this year is the 40-year anniversary of "the year that saved the Cadets"... when the corps was on the brink of going under before the season started, then rallied and made it back into Finals. IIRC Hanover had a Jr show that year and contracted Cadets for well under $1000. And Corps was glad for that... At least that was the bus story....

I think it'll lead to more financial stability for both Cadets and USBands.
lifeisaround
Didn’t USBands cover all the debt that the cadets have? Wondering where the extra funds outside of development will come from

YEA and Cadets need to be ahead of the story instead of continuing to allow the rumor mill to run wild! There are going to be many questions as to if the Cadets can stand on their own financially. Now donor's will at least know where their donations are being allocated by who they chose to donate to.
East9900
Nice move for them to include the comment from DCI supporting The Cadets in 2020. At least the corps can move forward now as its own entity. Now as donors and supporters we need to step up and support this corps. There is still a lot of work to be done but its a good start.
JimF-LowBari
Dang wonder what the cost of checking everything out and hopefully doing it correct and complete was... But also think good move to make things separate Edited February 10, 2020 by JimF-LowBari
dans
This is a well thought out move by the Cadets. The current management team is on top of all the details regarding this new start for the Cadets!

Finally SOMETHING to put all the rumors to rest. Glad to see Cadets aren't folding.
