Cadets 2020

Recommended Posts

seems like with the localized cases appearing in SE PA it was the prudent decision. Hoping things are in a better place by the April camp so the corps (and other corps) don't end up far behind heading into ST

I guess the positive is video interviews (for guard) and online work (for others) can continue in the meantime - they can email out more music etc for contracted members

I'm sure all these corps will be leveraging the webinars etc

Hearing from a reliable source that DCI's telling everyone to go virtual for the April camps. Schools are backing out of agreements to house, so there wasn't much of a choice.

Cadets have a virtual brass camp this weekend...gotta love it! They are on a mission.

See, this kind of situation is where hard work wins out over talent.  Go Cadets!

By any chance, did your  "reliable source"  have any information as to whether  "backing out of agreements to house ",extends beyond April ?

Nothing widespread, though a few corps are scrambling to find alternative spring training sites in case their original plans get yanked by state government or university rules. DCI and the member corps leaders are discussing the situation on a regular basis, and seem to be trying to keep their options open in case mid-April comes and things aren't looking much better.

I would bet that schools are not 'backing out'; they are closing, both colleges and K-12 level.
