She did when Santa Clara canned Jeff Fielder. She was the messenger then when Jeff was sent home midseason. She can be the Cadets messenger now.

I can’t say for certain you are incorrect, but this sounds like something that you heard from a friend of a friend of a friend. You may need to read the job description of a staff director and the overall chain of command in a drum corps, namely that a staff coordinator reports to the director answers to the board.

Regiment needs a new design team, brass writer and guard person! Regiment's guard used to be the gold standard.

I’ve already seconded the first two changes but the third has rarely been spoken about this year from what I’ve read. The guard was 12th on finals by half a point. They were 14th in semis and 12th in prelims. The guard staff are very very young. Many recent ageouts. Still shocked by who’s leading them. Never ever thought they’d be allowed back.

I co-sign this post. Fiedler didn’t leave SCV until after the 2015 season. I remember vividly seeing him at Championships that year.

I understand your sentiment here and it’s a good one. But PR hasn’t won best color guard for the season since 1988.

He's also a 1983 Garfield Cadet, accomplished band director, and basically worked miracles at Cadets since April 2018. By all accounts that I'm aware of, he's a wonderful director and it's a surprise to me he wasn't 2018 director of the year.

He is also in the Crossmen Hall of Fame for his work with them.   I believe the Cadets are in good directorial hands.

Mr. Valenzuela needs to go. He has done very little/nothing to further the cause of Regiment’s standing. The BOD needs to make a decision to either go the route of Star and leave DCI to become a performing arts outreach or take DCI competition seriously. Fortunately they are on financial footing to do one or the other but not both.

His hands were tied a lot of the time I’m sure but he’s just not getting it done. No major fundraising. No new ventures. Stagnate.
