DCA may be handed something that would, I hope, make our activity better. With the possibility of DCI adding WW's, here's an opportunity for DCA to maintain the drum and bugle corps activity without much competition (my opinion).

A lot of revenue DCI and DCI corps make are from people like us who marched from the 1960's on to today. How many of you support a young student to march with a top 12 DCI corps? How many of you want to still see drum and bugle corps and NOT marching band.

If DCI approves WW's then DCA should begin to put the pieces together to sell it as the ONLY drum and bugle corps association in North America.

Add to this if you'd like!

In North America ? You mean the North East ?

with the exception of a few isolated parcels outside the NE NO ONE knows about DCA for the most part .

See now where DCA missed its chance ???

i won’t hold my breath waiting for a answer

but it seems a subcommittee of some sort passed it before sending it the the corps to vote on. isn't that the way other major changes have happened?  try once, twice, three times...

Yep..I still have the screen shots of all the people on here that tried to tell me that Wood Winds would never happen as it was a matter of fact sort of thing. Same people that told me no electronics on the field in both DCI and then in DCA. Can't wait to break out the receipts.

Drum corps on Long Island died years ago with the loss of the American Legion and VFW. The cost of membership from DCI is overbearing in these financial times. Covid has played an issue in these last 2 years, but the loss of "junior" corps has led to a downfall for what was the senior corps.
