As I recall, over in DCI, the G7 wanted to give apportion voting something like this:

--the seven corps in the G7 would get two votes each on the board;

--another ten or so corps would get one vote each on the board -- not sure of the exact number but it had to be fewer then fourteen;

--the remaining corps would get no votes.

And the G7 would permanently retain that status. Meanwhile, any other corps that scored 7th place or better three years in a row (like Boston just did) would be elevated to the top level and also get two votes -- but it wasn't clear whether they would permanently retain that status or whether they would fall out again after three years of missing top seven status -- unlike, say, Phantom Regiment, who have now finished outside the top seven for four years in a row but would still be counted as the G7.

But regardless, the G7 would have given the judges in the stadium some authority over voting power in DCI's boardroom.
