2019 Drum Corps Associates World Championships Preliminary Competition

Recommended Posts

42nd Street and Times Square is our next stop. Sir Duke is the closer. Bass drums put their drums on their harnesses on the field for a brief bass intro. Guard all dons tourist I LOVE NY shirts.

Dance break! Pit and drums plays the middle eight from Sir Duke before the horns come back in on the chorus.

My bad. Closer is actually Empire State of Mind. Guard breaks out giant yellow, white, and black taxi flags.

Guard now on iridescent flags of various colors. Corps reprises Harlem quickly before finishing up the show.

Ticking sounds from a speaker on the backfield DM podium as the corps begins backfield. The corps has set up backdrops on the field to form a staging area, akin to a SoundSport field. For the size of the corps, this is perfect.

Horns turn front with a big sound for their size! Definitely an opening intro song.

Stormworks. I remember when Carolina Crown introed this piece back in 1995. Very effective selection. Corps doing leans left and right to go with the music.

Great rip by the mellophones! Their sound is ringing through the stadium.

Brief drum break. Horns form on either side of the field, giving the flags center stage as they trade melody side to side.

Reprise of the main theme of the selection.

Bass drop to end the song. Corps does slow motion movement during the drop as transition into the next section of the show, Intimidation. Drums get a larger and intense feature center stage.
