He doesn't have to register as a sex offender, which is totally ridiculous. There's something in the law about the date the crime was committed determines whether you have to register or not. But at least he's forever going to have "convicted felon" in front of his name.

As of 2011, Pa. bases registration on the date the offender was sentenced, convicted, or released from prison. Pleading guilty in 2020 means he will have to register for a minimum of 15 years or depending on the crime, a lifetime registration.

Sounds right.  I have a (former) colleague from USAF who taught middle school & somehow got involved with a (15 YO) student.  Age of consent in that state is 16.  He cooperated from the get-go & received 10 years probation & lifetime on the registry.

I think it would be a lot harder in the future for a Corps director to scrub his (or any other) name from the SO list if they wanted to hire him.

You don’t “somehow” get involved with a 15 yo student.

I use the term ‘somehow’ because I was not there to see how it happened. There are several routes (all bad & wrong)  he could have taken to create the situation (for lack of a better term) - IDK specifics so I said somehow.
