I would estimate that about 90% of the folks who I marched with and am still in contact with, have completely abandoned the drum corps activity. We go to maybe one show every few years and see very few old faces in the crowd and hardly any corps jackets. Mostly bandos and their Family. Hell I could have said that 10 years after I quit marching... 1979 first time and 1985 the second.... And I didn’t do Junior corps Edited January 5, 2020 by JimF-LowBari

I see very few 20 or 30 somethings at shows and I go to quite a few. So does Allentown and I’m still seeing the same faces 40 years later

Probably not the number of paid attendees at championships (vs. Buffalo, Boston, Montreal; ok, more than Florida.) Fran Haring
What Jeff, Fred, and others have said... we are mere bystanders here. "Mongo only pawn in game of life." 😁 Whatever gets approved... so be it. None of us here can stop it. So then each of us will have to make a decision: stay or go. Whatever. The Earth will continue to spin on its axis. 2

EricS
The proposal of allowing any instrument as presented by Kathy Black is pure BS. It is an insult to anyone's intelligence who has given even as much time to it as it took to read it. I have never read any document that makes so many sweeping generalities trying to justify the proposal. And with so many stupid and ignorant assumptions. I dare not take it apart piece by piece, less i be here til tomorrow. Anyone who votes on the rule change based on this proposal is a pure fool, and i suspect there are a lot of fools who will vote to implement this change. Any instrument??? The most idiotic thing I've ever read. SMFH. GMAFB!!!!!!!! Edited January 5, 2020 by EricS

This old hanger on is out if they pass woodwinds. 2020 will be my farewell tour. 👋 Terri I won't go that far yet, but I'm not far from it. Last year I went to the theater and the sound was so horrific because of amplification that I left and asked for my money back. Any instrument? WTF?
