But I guess I shouldn't complain too much, my daughter was about 4 and we were high up in the stands, forget the corps but right at the big pause in the ballad my daughter yells, "Look! A fire tuck!" There was one off in the distance driving somewhere. She was not into the shows that night and we were luckily not anywhere near a mic and the diehard fans around us thought it was cute. Having recordings with ambulance siren, planes going over head during our show (J Birney Crum in Allentown) and train bell. Train bell is hilarious as heard a corps member later say “think that was my brother on the train”. 1

Probably not the most random thing I've heard shouted a drum corps show LOL. It is, in fact, pretty darn cute.

Even worse, why are there people who actually laugh when someone shouts that??? Someone should ask if Brandt Crocker is ready...to retire. He ruined himself 20 years ago. Awful.
IllianaLancerContra
It has been around for a while - I remember occurring in in the 1970s.
Sutasaurus
I remember Dave St.Angel yelling it at us on the starting line in the early 70’s
Tim K
I’ve heard it for years. I’ve also heard the variation “They’re always ready. It’s the judges who aren’t ready.” It doesn’t phase me all that much but it can ruffle some feathers. At least I’ve never heard “They’re not ready and never will be!”😀
Weaklefthand4ever
Wasn't it 1990 Star when someone yelled something like 'Oh my God, the baby's burning!" My father told me about it but I was a little busy during that performance loading a truck LOLOLOLOL.
Skeletor '96
Don't even get me started about, "I'm (still) wet". I'd be really ticked off if I were a Blue Devil and someone shouted that on my Finals recording.
greg_orangecounty
It's so lame, and it's been going on since at least 1972. It's almost as annoying as having "VK ALL THE WAY" shouted during your DCI Finals performance.
Chief Guns
My favorite is from the 2000 BD show, finals night someone yells "Frank is an American bad***!!!"
