If Gawd forbid Drum Corps is canceled this summer, What are your alternate plans?

Yep! If you haven't experienced it, you just can't understand the sheer scale LOL. The closest we have in the SE is in Helen, GA., and it's quite frankly awful.

There an exact copy in Vegas 😋

I have a bunch of friends heading to Vegas yesterday and today for a very large pool tournament. I haven't been since I stopped playing tour in 1998. Interesting town....

Helen is just AWFUL and I don't say that very often. Nothing has been renovated since the 70's. The restaurants are dirty, overpriced and outdated. The shops are pretty decent but they must really love their ####, because at those prices, they won't sell much of it. I will say there is some tubing, hiking and kayaking up on the Ocoee that's pretty cool (it was an Olympic course after all.)

One thing that I did find funny was that as marijuana has become more and more legalized, about 6 head shops opened up in the span of a year. One of them has a mister outside the front entrance that mists a marijuana smell every couple of minutes. You can watch (as Britt refers to them) "all of you old stoners" suddenly spin on their heels and walk right into the shop. I didn't even realize I was walking into the shop actually LOL.

Western Europe just isn’t worth it anymore

Eastern Europe is the bomb

Poland Prague Budapest etc

My other hobby is World War 1 history - there are places in France (like Verdun) & Belgium (Ypres) that are good.

Plus, these people really know how to cook.

Rome / Vatican is worth seeing, but it is art porn - oh - there's another Michelangelo....More Rafael's over there....oh - that's a Leonardo, ... ... ...

I always wanted to go to the Vatican. We did some concerts in Rome but I just never had the opportunity to get to several other places. And again, I was very young so my tastes have changed over time. Belgium brings up a few vague memories mostly because of being like 10 years old and seeing the Manneken Pis for the first time and thinking it was funny. Like I said, my 5-12 year old self just didn't appreciate things that my 48 year old self does now.

How have I never heard of this place before?

Now I will say, 4th of July is pretty neat because the state of Georgia "Ain't skeert o' no forest fires" and shoots off 6 billion tons of fireworks. Christmas has some good concerts and it ALWAYS snows up there around Christmas because it's, well...the mountains. Oktoberfest...meh...they have decent beer and a street crawl with about 40 microbreweries who participate. The "German" food isn't particularly authentic but the prices aren't horrible. Hotels are excellent.

If there is no Drum corps this summer, I'm going to donate to a few of my favorite corps.

I have been donating, and have a monthly automatic deduction from my account. That won’t change if the tour is cancelled.
